Dear 2020

Dear 2020... Not all is lost with this peculiar pandemic year, 

though 2020 has taken from us ones so dear. 

My sweet mom bid adieu to a fight well-fought. 

She hung in there years past what we thought. 

Though sad for our loss the memories prevail, 

and 2020 just started with a frightening tale. 

The stay-at-home order just temporary they said, 

til the days turned to months so camping we fled. 

An early arrival, baby Beau joined the brood. 

A healthy little boy lifted our spirit and COVID-blue mood. 

Keep family apart unless in your bubble, 

wear masks and stay six feet apart to avoid any trouble. 

Zoom birthdays, travel bans, tp shortage, a world we've never seen. 

Plexiglass barriers, Clorox wipes, wash those hands clean! 

No hugging, no handshakes, just no, no, no! 

Life as we knew it seems a lifetime ago. 

The virus is raging 'round the globe, but a vaccine is close behind. 

2020 has been a challenging one, but we are a resilient kind! 

With a gazillion unknowns and potential turmoil ahead, 

we wish you and yours a healthy and prosperous 2021 instead!
